Tora Eco Resort & Life Experience Centre

Sundarbans National Park

TORA Eco resort sits on Bali Island surrounded by lush green paddy fields on the banks of the river Gumdi just opposite the Sajnekhali Wildlife Sanctuary, part of the Sunbarbans Tiger Reserve.   A unique community operated tourism project, it offers accommodation in nine cottages made from locally available materials in the rural style of architecture, an organic vegetable garden and a large open area overlooking a fishing pond.  A dining area open on four sides offers simple local cuisine and safe drinking water.   As a part of our Sustainable Tourism practice we have encouraged the host community to build up their capacity to receive tourists and earn revenue by running the accommodation along with experiential activities for guests from village visits and cultural performances to country boat rides.
