The pandemic has illustrated, far better than my 20 years of sustained advocacy, just how critical nature based tourism is to saving our parks and wildlife – whoever runs them. Redirecting it to make it more resilient with domestic based tourism now is critical, but also not be over reliant on this sector as a livelihood and behavioural changemaker is also critical in ‘Building back better’ post Covid.
