Travel Operators for Tigers India Wildlife Association (TOFT India), India’s leading advocate for responsible wildlife tourism recently held its 2nd Wildlife Tourism Awards at the Ambassador Hotel in New Delhi. Winners include superb naturalists, NGO’s funded by tourism, park guides that spend their spare time training and educating, private sanctuaries that have restored fabulous waterfalls, beautiful tiger reserves with blooming tiger population and lodges that now have resident wildlife and even tigers in their restored landscapes.

TRAVEL OPERATORS FOR TIGERS (TOFT) – they of the PUG mark ranking of accommodations around the national parks in tiger territory-just announced their 2012 Wildlife Tourism Awards. Instituted last year, it recognises bright sparks in the tourism industry who care about and nurture the environment. Among the notables this year are the Best Community Initiative Prakritik Society of Ranthambhore and Best Wildlife/ Tourism Initiative Wildernest, Goa.

Naturalists, park guides, NGOs who have contributed to the growth of wildlife tourism in various ways and helped in its healthy growth creating awareness about the importance of preserving the natural habitat of tigers have been honored with 2nd Wildlife Tourism Awards instituted by the Tour Operators for Tigers (TOFT).
